About GriefShare
GriefShare is a 13-week seminar/support group for people grieving the death of someone close. It’s a place where you can be around people who understand how you feel and the pain of your loss. At GriefShare, you’ll learn valuable information that will help you through this difficult time in your life.
The loss of a loved one is a traumatic experience that effects individuals in various ways. No two individuals react exactly the same way, although many individuals often experience some similar reactions. GriefShare is designed to help you work through the grief of your loss whether your loss occurred three days ago, three years ago, or thirty years ago.
The goals of the GriefShare program are to help individuals recognize the aspects of grief they are experiencing and to assist in working through these. Most sessions begin with a professionally prepared, 30-minute video which discusses many types of loss. This is followed by a group discussion and experiences of the members between sessions or during their time of grief. Sharing is encouraged, but not required.
GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t need to go through the grieving process alone. Please join us.
Who should come… Who should not?
GriefShare is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. We understand there are other losses in life that create grief. You might be experiencing a job loss, a divorce, estrangement from a child, or the loss of a friend because of a move. These experiences of grief are real, but not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare sessions. If you are struggling with a loss not due to a death, we encourage you to contact the church office for help finding resources that will be of specific help in your situation.
